Functions:
The basic function of Agriculture Department is transfer of technology from Lab to land in the field. ADOs and AEAs are the key persons in transferring of technologies including information on new varieties of crops. In addition to that the departmental officers implements different developmental schemes as listed in the ‘Schemes’ under item no.-3. Farmers are trained through different training programmes as when needed. All efforts are made to make farmer self sufficient so that there is no unemployment in the rural area to the extent possible. Officers and staffs are also engaged by Govt. in implementing some schemes or programme as when needed, which have no direct link with agriculture like Election works, Census works, NRC like works, Atal Amrit Yojona etc.
